Mission details from Monday 11 Feb 2013

Details for Monday 11 Feb 2013

Wow, it has been a busy time. There is a lot to tell.

First up, we are having problems with internet and cell service, so
please do not worry if we are slow to post or reply to e-mails. We are
all fine. It is just harder to tell you about what is going on. This
is why we are posting for Monday on Tuesday.

Next: Monday was NOT our light day. Usually Monday is the quiet day
while you set up and get ready. Thing got busy and stayed that way.
We started about 0730 and did not get done until 9:30 that night. The
doctors were very busy. So far the numbers are at:
Seen X-rays Extractions
Fillings Cleanings
2013 Feb 11 Monday 70 51 149 39 21
Totals: 70 51 149 39 21

I will pass on some of the comments from the people we have helped.
Many said thank you. One guy was poetic when he compared us to "Angels
sent to help." He said it with a flourish and poetry that is hard to
capture in English. A mom watched Jan Boring as she rocked a little
boy. The boy's teeth were rotten and most had been extracted. I
believe he was 5 years old. While Jan was comforting him, the lady
commented to me: "A mothers love sooths many pains."

It is amazing what has been done since we were last. In the recent
years, Pastor Luis has organized the congregation and gotten to work.
The last time we visited, the parsonage was about 2/3 done. With the
support of the main church, they were able to finish the home but
there was large question of where to hold worship. The house is on a
larger piece of land and there was enough space to build on but no
funds. That was a few years ago. Since then the house has been
completed so Pastor Luis has a place for him and his family. For the
church space, the lease was up on the building they had been using.

Pastor Luis went to work gathering support and effort. The details on
this story are worth a separate posting later. There is an awesome
story here. This location is much better than the previous. The
church community built it with their own hands and effort. You can
feel the pride in this church community as they talk about this and
what is next.

I am going to attach some pictures with this. They tell the story
better than I can with words.
